This Blog and Me

What is this blog about.

Technology is a broad spectrum term with a wealth of information available for each category. They can include space, chemistry, information technology, so on and so forth. This blog mainly focuses on information technology but specifically programming and development. However I am leaving room for everything under the technology and science umbrella, personal, and even science fiction.
Posts will be opinions and will also include projects I am working on, programming, even my interests in things such as model helicopters.

I am not committing to blog updates every day, as I will not always have the time to do this.

This is also my first blog! so I hope I am doing something right.

I have a strong interest in video game development and I am currently working on constructing a 3D engine using the Direct3D api for the windows phone market. I often try to be impartial when it comes to development platforms especially the phone and tablet market. Since I also have an interest in Linux then although I am working on a windows phone project, at the conclusion of that I will be switching to Android development and use its openGL graphics API. There will be a lot of opinions on the respective API's and development platforms. While all content will be my opinion, I welcome any constructive comments if I have stated a fact that has turned out to be inaccurate; I will endeavor to correct it if I feel it needs correcting.

What qualifies me for anything more than commenting on toasted bread? I  have a bachelors degree in Computer Science, I also have an electronics engineering certificate. In addition prior to taking up computer science I studied a diploma in electronics engineering which I almost completed but chose to focus on computer science. I also served as a chief computer technician, a hardware auditor, systems engineer for a telecommunications company. There was a period of break where I was investigating video game technology. Soon after that I worked again at the same telecommunications company and experienced many communications technologies.

What am I really passionate about is Science and technology of course! I like to see myself as a builder because I build things. Whether it is electronics circuits or a piece of software or even this computer desk I am using(yes, I built this!), I enjoy building. So I hope that now I can share many of my buildings, or if anything, build opinions about things.

Lastly, I am from New Zealand so the spelling of words may differ from your location. We spell colour as colour for instant with the addition of the letter 'u'.

I  have left the comments open on this page so you can communicate to me on things unrelated to blog posts.

Hope you enjoy reading my blog and please comment if you must, do not shy away from it!
-Mike, 2014.
